Hi folks. Sorry again for the lack of blog action recently. This week has been quite hectic you see, and even in a normal week it's hard to find the time to blog. Then even when I do find the time, I don't seem to write anything truly worthwhile, which makes me sad because I started this blog as a way to channel my love for writing (and maybe so I'd have something more interesting than 'my cat meows back at me when I tell her I love her' to put on my CV) and so small paragraphs about clothes I like doesn't seem to cut it for me any more, and yet I don't have the time to write anything more substantial. They weren't lying when they said A Levels were a lot of work. Even now while I write this, I have a huge pile of work I should be doing-analysing poems and answering 25 mark politics questions mostly (such fun).

Oh and before I go any further, I'm going to ask you to cry with me as when I finally went to order those wallpaper Topshop trousers this morning, they were out of stock in my size. No doubt of course when I finally do order them, they probably won't fit just like many Topshop trousers in the past, but I can't lose hope just yet.

But anyway, I have managed to snap a few of my outfits this week to put on here (and my awesome advent calender!). I can't say they're anything special as they were for sixth form so little creativity went in to them, but none the less I hope you enjoy looking at them-whether they make you laugh, frown or inspire.

ASOS 24 hour sale party picks

Ruby Rocks Python Print Dress

The combination of colour and print in this body-con number creates a slightly daring and yet completely versatile piece. Team with an oversized coat, flat boots, a long necklace and a messy down hair-do for a daytime look, and take it into the night with heels, chunky jewellery and a leather biker jacket. Bodycons also work great when folded in half and worn with shorts/trousers/separate skirts etc as well as as a skirt with a jumper over the top.

For a piece that can be worn in so many ways, £25 (reduced from £49!) is beyond a bargain.

RI sling backs

I love the unusual shape of these court shoes, everything about them seems to be designed to flatter a foot; the pretty indentation at the front, the thin strap designed to sit perfectly around a dainty ankle, and of course the long thin silver metallic heel. These shoes exude elegance and are so easy to style.

Did I mention they're also now only £26! (reduced from £65)

Metallic Paisley Shift

I absolutely adore this dress by Lowie. The flattering shape makes it suitable for most body shapes/sizes, it's bang on trend with the paisley and almost jacquard effect and the metallic/astronaut type vibe works seriously well right now. It's both beautiful and quirky, the kind of piece you can see isn't just your average dress.

It's a little pricier than my previous two favourites, but it's been reduced from £140 to just £55, and there's no denying that that ladies and gentlemen is a bargain.

Merlot Tonka Shell top/COAST

I don't think this top has been styled online to show off it's true potential, a basic black cloth midi just doesn't do it for me. But pair this rouge beauty with a cute, textured bodycon skirt or waxed black skinnies and strappy heels and voilà; you've got a real party piece. The intricate detail and design oozes party-season glamour. Plus, it could work from day to night, to the early morning hours.

Kicker Short In Mixed Sequin

I probably wouldn't have fallen as hard as I have for these kicker shorts had the styling on the ASOS website not been so damn perfect; but it is and the fabulousness of this outfit was impossible to ignore. When winter arrives and party season gets into full swing, sequins become my weakness. I also love the front zip, it's a little bit quirky which I really like in clothes.

This is a slight ramble of a post today (sorry). I've been absolutely terrible at remembering to photograph my outfits recently but keep your eyes peeled for one big outfit post coming soon, as I'm planning to do them all in one big go when I get the chance!

As far as getting the chance goes though, I have no idea when it'll be. I've got a busy weekend ahead; I'm even going into school tomorrow (my day off!) because Lord Whitty (from the House of Lords) is coming to speak. I also, scarily, have to meet and greet the guy and 'go for coffee in the conference room' with my politics teacher and the Lord himself. Gosh, I feel like I'm talking about voldemort when I say 'the Lord'. Just to be clear I'm not, I'm talking about the Labour politician. It's a real shame I don't like coffee. I wonder if I can be cheeky and demand a green tea?

More to the point. What on earth does one wear when meeting a Lord?! I'm currently thinking black heeled boots and my RI blazer but that's as far as I've got. I also seriously hope he's not expecting me to be some political boffin because well...I'm not. But hey at least when my dad boasts about knowing guys with seats in the commons I can do my fair share of boasting too. Maybe I'll try and influence some law-making too, I'm sure he'll appreciate my input. I'm currently thinking I should suggest free clothes for all? 

Anyway, I'm not sure whether I'll have the time to blog tomorrow as I'm working in the evening and have an English coursework piece to write before partaaaaying hard on saturday night (I'll try my very best to remember to blog my outfit), so here's the usual collection of inspirational images from the web that I'd post on a Friday.

P.s. Has anyone read the December VOGUE? I loved the article about dancing, it definitely made my horrendous moves seem more acceptable!

Weekly round up: part 2

1. The Margiela collection finally hit H&M stores this week. It largely focuses on oversized jackets, loosely fitted jeans and origami like pieces which drape over the body. See the Look-book here.

2. You'll have seen this photo featured in my last post due to Kate's amazing dress, but in this post it's all about her book signing. And when I say book signing, I mean the book signing celebrity filled after party.

Guests included Liberty Ross, Florence Welch, Stella McCartney, Alison Mosshart, Boy George, Noel Gallagher, Cara Delevingne, Virginia Bates and Edie Campbell and the do was hosted by Marc Jacobs. I think my invite must have gotten lost in the post..it's okay Kate, I forgive you.

3. If you indulged in the December issue of VOGUE you'll probably have already been wowed by this pretty little fella'. But did you know that the Pudsey creation (complete with Swarovski 'twinkle' in his eye) raised over £150,000 for children in need when auctioned off? YAY!

4.The Italian knitwear brand Missoni have announced they're launching a lower priced line of garments. It has been said that the line won't match it's previous prices when the brand combined forces with US store 'Target', but that it is aiming to 'evolve' within the fashion industry. Interesting...

5. Victorias Secret have had to apologise again for causing offence with a native american inspired piece worn by Karlie Kloss in their most recent show. Karlie took to twitter to personally apologise along side the company; 

"I am deeply sorry if what I wore during the VS Show offended anyone. I support VS's decision to remove the outfit from the broadcast."

Earlier this year a similar incident occurred with a geisha inspired outfit; touchy audience or ignorant company?
